About This Site
What Is mswdegree.com?
An independent guide to Master of Social Work (MSW) programs in the United States and to the social work license each state requires after them. It lists 530 programs at 404 schools, each checked on the school's own website, so you can compare format, advanced standing, field hours, accreditation and cost in one place, then see how to get licensed where you'll practice.
What the Site Covers
Every program listing shows the facts an applicant weighs: whether it's online, hybrid or on campus; whether a part-time plan exists; its credits and length; advanced standing for BSW graduates, with the credits and the school's eligibility rule; field education hours; its GRE policy in the school's words; published tuition with its basis and year; and the school's status in the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) directory (354 schools are listed as accredited). State pages add the license path from each state's social work board (52 boards checked).
How Programs Are Verified
The list of schools comes from CSWE's directory of accredited programs and federal IPEDS data on MSW degrees. A program appears only after its current page was reviewed on the school's own website. Accreditation status comes from CSWE's directory itself, not from school claims, and license rules from each state's board. The methodology explains each step.
Independence and Advertising
Some pages carry clearly labeled sponsored listings from schools that advertise. Those listings are separate from the program research and never change which programs appear, their order or what is said about them. The advertising disclosure explains how the site is funded.
Corrections
Programs and board rules change. If a listing is out of date, send the page and a link to the school's or board's page, and it will be reviewed.

He isn't a social worker, so every page is built from primary sources instead of opinion: each school's own program pages, CSWE's directory, each state's social work board, ASWB's exam pages, federal IPEDS data and BLS pay data, with the source cited on the page. See how programs are verified.
